Extending U.S. sanctions on Iran for 10 years would breach the Iranian nuclear agreement, Iran Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei said on Wednesday, warning that Tehran would retaliate if the sanctions are approved.
The U.S. House of Representatives re-authorized last week the Iran Sanctions Act, or ISA, for 10 years. The law was first adopted in 1996 to punish investments in Iran’s energy industry and deter Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons.

As producing countries gather in Algiers for talks on Wednesday, Saudi Arabia signaled for the first time it may accept the idea that Iran keep output at maximum levels but doesn’t expect an accord to be reached this week. A deal in November is possible, Saudi Oil Minister Khalid Al-Falih said in a briefing in the Algerian capital.

Iran’s supreme leader said the Islamic republic must stand strong against Washington on the region’s conflicts, in an address Sunday to commanders of the elite Republican Guards force.
“The Americans insist we negotiate with them on regional issues, especially on Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen,” Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said in the speech published on his official website.

The Obama administration disclosed to Congress on Tuesday that it transferred a total of $1.7 billion in cash through Swiss banks to Iran around the time American hostages were released this year, about four times the amount originally disclosed to the public, sources told Circa.
Trump is crazy. He’s a loose cannon. He’s such a crazy loose cannon that he probably wouldn’t take $400 million in foreign currency, load it on cargo pallets, put it on an unmarked plane and then have no idea who actually got the money. Only sensible experts in diplomacy like Obama and his cohort would do something like that.
The State Department revealed in a press briefing Monday that they do not know who in Iran picked up the $400 million that the Obama administration airlifted to Iran as leverage to get American hostages released.
