Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said his country was moving towards allowing trade with Russia, China and Iran to be conducted in local currencies, as he continues his efforts to strengthen the falling lira.
“If we buy something from them, we will use their money, if they buy something from us, they will use our currency,” he said, ahead of a trip by Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim to Russia for meetings on Tuesday.

Maybe two of America’s adversaries meddled in the presidential election — or maybe none at all.
White House spokesman Josh Earnest got confused during his daily briefing today and mistakenly said “China” was behind the election-related hacking.
One the country’s J-16 strike fighters fired the giant missile earlier this month.
Experts at Popular Science magazine analysed pictures of the event an estimated the missile measured 19 feet long and was 13 inches wide.
China is facing an uphill battle to maintain an orderly depreciation of the yuan as investors pile up bearish bets against the currency outside the mainland.
