The hallways were dim and stifling, thick with a frightening stench. Some were full of patients waiting silently in long lines outside exam rooms. Others were dark and deserted, with the overhead lighting ripped out. Time For Truth: (10 News) – Venezuela, A Failing State
Mexican soldiers killed ten members of a criminal group accused of ambushing a military patrol near the U.S. border in the violent northern state of Tamaulipas on Saturday, the government said.
A military convoy was attacked by armed men in several vehicles on a highway outside the border city of Nuevo Laredo, according to a statement from the state’s joint military and police task force.
Dallas Police face questions this morning over the method used to kill the sniper in last week’s officer ambush. Police sent a robot armed with explosives to kill the gunman.
Robots in the past have stopped a lot of dangerous situations. They can do pretty much anything a person can do: go upstairs, communicate via speakers, and use cameras to explore a scene, and at least one has been deployed to spray tear gas to subdue a suspect.
The Somali Islamist group al Shabaab said it ambushed a Kenyan security vehicle in remote northeastern Kenya on Sunday, killing four members of the security forces.
The Kenyan Red Cross said in a post on Twitter that two police officers had been killed and two others injured, while a Kenyan police spokesman said he was unaware of the attack.
An apparent smuggling group controlling a border neighborhood in Texas attempted to ambush a team of Breitbart reporters who were investigating security conditions on the Texas border with Mexico. The Galaxia “colonia” or neighborhood of western Brownsville, Texas, is in a region controlled by factions of the Mexican Gulf cartel. The neighborhood is notorious for drug and human smuggling and spillover violence. This reporter was there with Ildefonso Ortiz on assignment for Breitbart Texas and we were joined by a local reporter for a Spanish-language news outlet when frightening events began to occur. The local reporter asked not to be identified by name due to safety concerns for his family.
